Ant-Man and the Wasp | Extra

Before anyone gets too excited, let me clarify that I was an extra in this film and was not visible in the final cut.

Now that that little disclaimer is out of the way, let me just say this WAS SUCH AN EXCITING DAY.

I’d never before been on a set with the budget and resources of Ant-Man and the Wasp. The number of people working on it was insane, the resources incredible, and the equipment gorgeous.

I was on set for a car chase scene, so most of the main actors had been switched out for stunt doubles. They had multiple vehicles, cameras on cranes, and entire San Francisco city blocks barricaded. It was every actor's dream.

Wandering around playing the role of 'lost tourist' was great because it gave me the chance to watch (more like gawk, but that was okay because it was part of my character) and learn. The shots were so complicated that everyone had to be perfectly on cue or someone quite literally would have been run over with a car.

All in all, this day was a blast despite the 4 am wake-up call, and it gave me a better idea of what to expect the next time I'm on the set of a major budget motion picture.
